Health Care Assistant (HCA)

JOB SCOPE
-
Visiting patients in the community
-
Administering medications (orally, creams, patches)
-
Performing patient specific assessments
-
Interpreting assessment data to adjust medications accordingly
-
Acting in acute situations according to pre-set company protocols
-
Noting changes in behaviour for mental health patients
-
Documentation of all interventions and assessment data
-
Submitting daily reports to Nursing Coordinator and pharmacy
-
Following up with Nursing Coordinator regarding significant assessment data
-
Actively participating in patients’ healthcare outcomes
-
Performs other related duties as required

NO assistance with personal care or ADL’s

NO night shifts

Position Requirements:

BC Class 5 Driver's License
-
Graduate from a Health Care Assistant program and membership with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Criminal Record Check will be requested upon successful offer

First Aid/CPR Certificate
Rate: $21.00-$23.00/hour
